Location: Denver, CO
Compensation: $160,000-$190,000 + bonus potential
Description
We are seeking a VP of Finance & Controllership to join a growing technical services company as it transitions into a standalone, private equity-backed organization. This is a unique opportunity to partner directly with executive leadership and help scale a $20M business with plans for significant national growth.
Reporting to the President, this role will lead finance and accounting operations, drive strategic planning and forecasting, support the company carve-out process, and build the financial infrastructure needed to support expansion across the United States.

Description
We are seeking a VP of Finance & Controllership to join a growing technical services company as it transitions into a standalone, private equity-backed organization. This is a unique opportunity to partner directly with executive leadership and help scale a $20M business with plans for significant national growth.
Reporting to the President, this role will lead finance and accounting operations, drive strategic planning and forecasting, support the company carve-out process, and build the financial infrastructure needed to support expansion across the United States.
Responsibilities
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and management reporting
- Oversee monthly close, financial statements, WIP reporting, and POC accounting
- Support the transition to a standalone business entity
- Manage cash flow, banking, bonding, insurance, and financial risk
- Build and develop the finance and accounting team
- Drive process improvements, internal controls, and ERP initiatives
- Partner with leadership on growth strategy and operational decision-making
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience
- Construction industry experience required
- Expertise in POC accounting and WIP reporting
- Experience leading finance teams in multi-location organizations
- Strong FP&A, forecasting, and financial modeling skills
- Experience with ERP systems and process improvement initiatives
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- CPA preferred
- Experience with business carve-outs, acquisitions, or rapid-growth companies
- Construction ERP experience (Spectrum or similar)
- Background in public accounting, audit, or consulting
